The 'You Grow We Grow' Learning Festival, funded by the Arts Council of Wales, was a project hosted by Down to Earth, Murton. Workshop sessions across Music, Art and Drama, were organised and delivered by Year 9 pupils using skills and inspiration gained from access to practising artists. Ami Marsden sculptor, Catrin Jones glass artist, Bloco Vale Samba and Volcano Theatre, came together as a multi-disciplinary group to inspire pupils. The learning festival saw primary feeder schools, peers, parents and the community, enrol on sessions to share in this learning experience. As well as creative, practical and transferable skills gained, central to the project was encouraging and developing well-being, encouraging pupils to spend time with parents and peers in a learning and enrichment context.
